AKS FOUNDATION is a unit of NeoGandhian Aid Organizations India, (a Section 25 Not For Profit Company incorporated under the Companies act of 1956) and has come into being through a joint initiative of Ms. Barkha Bajaj and NeoGandhian Aid Organizations India.


BARKHA BAJAJ,  MA Counselling Psychology, MA Clinical Psychology;  Executive Director – Aks Foundation:

Barkha Bajaj JPEGMs. Barkha Bajaj is a trained phsychologist with specialisation in trauma. She has worked with Crisis Helplines in the US for five years. She is the principal initiator of AKS FOUNDATION. Barkha Bajaj returned to India in 2008 after five years in USA, armed with her second Masters in Psychology and over four years of supervised experience in Trauma and Family therapy.

Barkha founded Aks Counselling and Training Agency in 2008 and as Director and Lead Trainer, Aks started work in India by spreading awareness on socially relevant topics like Body, Body Image, Feelings and Anger Management in various schools/colleges in Pune.  Simultaneously she started Corporate Training on very sensitive issues like preventing workplace violence and sexual harassment. Besides training the staff and workers of various Corporate houses, she also conducted training for top level executives and sexual harassment committee boards of some major Corporates in Pune. Simultaneously, her private practice gained popularity with her clientele growing as as fast as her social awareness campaigns. She was soon selected to join as a Visiting Counselor at Mercedes Benz International School, Pune.

Barkha’s passion and dream has been to build social awareness against sexual harassment and gender based abuse. To that end AKS organized and conducted the first ‘Take Back the Night in April 2009’ – with an Awareness Walk on MG Road to spread awareness about the perils of Sexual Abuse and Harassment.  In 2010 she organized a panel discussion with prominent personalities of Pune on ‘Stalking and Sexual Harassment’. The  2011, Take Back the Night saw her conducting another panel discussion to talk about ‘Childhood Sexual Abuse’ thus starting a mutually supportive relationship with a well known NGO called “Childline” which works for supporting children who have been victims of sexual abuse. In 2012, Take Back the Night was a Concert by the amateur school band of Mercedes Benz International School(MBIS), where-in they raised Rs. 30,000 for the NGOs Muskaan and Childline.                                                                                                       

Barkha often partners with Radio Mirchi, Pune to create awareness about sexual assault and sexual harassment and such like social activities.  Her other pursuits include writing regular columns for Sakaal Times sharing her professional views on socially relevant issues. She is associated with Soroptimist International: Pune Metro East,(SIPME), a club of working women which has been conducting workshops to create awareness about Domestic Violence amongst different sections of women including nurses at major hospitals like Ruby Hall and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. She is the Counselor for ‘Anger Management and Conflict Resolution’ Workshops conducted for women by SIPME.

As of today Barkha besides being the Executive Director of AKS FOUNDATION, she has a private practice, does Corporate Training and undertakes voluntary work with victims/survivors of sexual abuse, and works as a psychologist with MBIS. It is little wonder that because of her passion for her work and her dedication to these social causes that in 2009, Barkha was selected by Femina, Pune as one of the ‘Eleven Most Electrifying Women of  Pune!

Maj. Madhukar Katragadda (Retd.): Chairman and Managing Director – NeoGandhian Aid Organizations India

 Madhukar is a product of Sainik School Korukonda in Andhra Pradesh and graduated from the National Defence Acdemy, Kharakvasla, Pune. He became a commissioned officer in the Indian Army in 1982 and meritoriously served the nation for 11 years in 47 Armoured Regiment and took premature retirement voluntarily in the year 1994. Since he established himself as a straight forward professional in the Indian Vacation Ownership and Timeshare Industry initially and soon diversified into establishing services oriented corporate entities in various sectors such as Risk and Security, Housing and Hospitality, Lifestyles and Wellness, Media and Information Technology and Not For Profit Charity organizations.







  Brig. Deepak Bajaj, VSM, (Retd.): Executive Director – NeoGandhian Aid Organizations India

Brig Bajaj is a veteran Armoured Corps brigadier, with over 35 years of service in the army, has served extensively in all kinds of terrains and operational conditions including participation in  the 1971 War against Pakistan and anti terrorist operations in J&K in 2000-2001.  He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Army War College, Mhow. He has been an instructor at the War College and at The Armoured Corps Centre and School, Ahmednagar for over five years. The officer has extensive experience in operational and strategic planning, resource, material and financial management, military training, administration and liaison with civil administration at national, state and regional levels. He was awarded the coveted Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India on Republic Day 2004 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to National Security during Communal Disturbances in Gujarat. Post  his retirement in March 2006, he was employed for over three years as Director Human Resource & Administration with DDA Group,Pune, a 200 Crore Group primarily into automobile dealerships including Mercedes Benz and Maruti Suzuki cars. The officer is a Corporate Trainer and an Advisor & Consultant in Human Resource Management. He is a visiting faculty deputed to teach subjects like Business Verticals and Entrepreneurship with Bharati Vidyapeeth University- Mindware Amplify Academy, Dept of IT and Management, Pune.



Mr. Sandip Shinde – Director Finance – NeoGandhian Aid Organizations India

Mr. Sandip Shinde is a Finance and Accounts professional having a thorough understanding of all aspects of finance and accounts and administration.He did his Graduation in Commerce from Mumbai University.  Has over a decade of hands experience in administration and management of accounts especially hospitality. He is well versed with administration, accounting, Finance, and handling statutory tax matters.
