aksAKS FOUNDATION is a unit of “NEOGANDHIAN AID ORGANIZATIONS INDIA (www.neogandhian.org), a Section 25 “Not For Profit” NGO, incorporated under the Indian Companies Act of 1956, headquartered in Mumbai and having its operations in the cities of Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Delhi at the moment with plans to go pan India in the near future.

NEOGANDHIAN AID ORGANISATIONS, INDIA  is a MAJORSGROUP CSR initiative.

AKS has been providing  counseling services, advocacy and education about gender based violence.  in Pune since 2009 and has been instrumental in building awareness and raising a voice against the social evil of violence against women and children. Now an NGO,under the umbrella of NEOGANDHIAN AID ORGANISATIONS,INDIA, AKS FOUNDATION is working with renewed zeal and enthusiasm for this noble cause. AKS FOUNDATION, in a first for Pune this year, is planning upon setting up two 24/7 crisis help lines with trained staff taking calls and providing counseling, physical, moral and, as far as possible legal and  financial support  to children, women and men being subjected to physical, mental or sexual abuse.

AKS FOUNDATION  does and will continue to conduct  awareness programmes and talks along with  education about violence and abuse in schools and colleges. In order to generate funds for the 24/7 helplines, AKS FOUNDATION is organizing its fourth annual event  TAKE BACK THE NIGHT to bring about greater awareness about grave issues related to sexual  abuse.

The Executive Director and prime mover of AKS FOUNDATION, is Ms. Barkha Bajaj, a trained psychologist and a specialist in trauma who has over five years experience in  Counseling and assisting victims of abuse in the US.  AKS FOUNDATION is conducting this year’s event with the theme  “ART for ACTION” wherein paintings made by students of Mercedes Benz International School shall be displayed and sold to raise funds for the Pune 24/7 Help Lines!

AKS FOUNDATION is pleased to announce that the 2013 edition of “TAKE BACK THE NIGHT” event will be held on 18th April 2013 at “Malaka Spice” in Koregaon Park, Lane 5, Pune. An ART EXHIBITION is being  as a part of this event, and the sale proceeds will go towards achieving the objectives of AKS FOUNDATION.
